Vice President of Finance
Location: South Florida; Connecticut and New York also considered

Compensation: Base $185k-$205k (DOE) + annual bonus

The Role (What You’ll Do)
We are hiring a VP of Finance to own the financial health of WSS and oversee all finance operations. This leader will manage AP, AR, Collections, FP&A, and bookkeeping while providing strategic guidance on budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and price increases. The role is approximately 80% management and oversight, with 20% direct involvement in budgeting and financial understanding to support the company’s growth and decision-making.
- Oversee all WSS finance functions, including AP, AR, Collections, FP&A, and bookkeeping.
- Build and manage a team for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and accrual-based accounting.
- Lead the company’s budgeting process and support pricing and price increase decisions.
- Build clear financial visibility for leadership and ensure accuracy across reporting.
- Maintain accountability for finance processes, controls, and deadlines.
- Partner with leadership to understand business performance and guide financial strategy.
- Translate financial data into actionable insights that support company planning.
- Ensure finance operations are organized, reliable, and scalable as WSS grows.
- Provide trusted guidance on financial decisions that affect operations and revenue.
- Help align finance with the company’s long-term vision and operating priorities.

- Accrual accounting experience required.
- Experience supporting pricing strategy and price increases.
- Waste management, multifamily, commercial services, or related industry experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust with leadership and own sensitive financial responsibilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Finance or Accounting
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- 5+ years senior management experience
- Based in New York preferred; Connecticut and Florida will also be considered.
- Ability to manage the full finance function with minimal oversight.
- Strong understanding of how finance supports company growth and vision.
- Proven ability to earn trust through sound judgment, accuracy, and discretion.
- Familiar with US GAAP
